Our Team

  • Joanna Hodgson, Manager

    Jo joined the Region of Learning team in September 2021 as the Region of Learning, Skills and Opportunity Administrator and Coordinator. Alongside ensuring the project is European Social Fund compliant, she develops referral routes into the programme, spreading information about the project and its offer and linking with schools and other providers. Jo has a background in education and the arts, having taught in mainstream and special needs education for over 15 years.

  • Lucy Laing, Manager

    Lucy joined the Region of Learning team in September 2021 and oversees the learning and wellbeing strands of the project. Lucy coordinates learning partnerships and strategy at a regional and national level and manages the project’s wider relationship with delivery partners and stakeholders. Lucy works closely with Jo to align the project with multiple priorities. This is to ensure the Navigatr platform and possibilities for micro-credentialling, continues to develop and be made accessible to opportunity providers and young people across the region. Lucy has a background in Museum and Gallery education and arts programming and is also a trained CAVA Level 3 Assessor.

  • Engagement Officer

    Georgia joined the Region of Learning team in September 2023 as an Engagement Officer. She works with local organisations and employers to identify and develop career pathways, which join up employment sectors with learner progression routes. In her role, Georgia supports organisations to create and embed digital badges as a means to recognise learning, transferrable skills and accomplishments as part of their recruitment and training practices. Georgia has a background in Higher Education teaching and research in English, as well as development programmes that ease transitions for young people into the workplace.

  • Kenechukwu (Kaycee) Umerah, Engagement Officer

    Kaycee joined the Region of Learning team in August 2022. Her role focuses on supporting the project to create digitally badge career pathways that enable young people to highlight more than their qualifications to potential opportunity providers, such as employers. Kaycee also undertakes primary and secondary research on potential employer and activity providers in both the private and the public sectors. She has a background in Biomedical Research and Education.

  • Ricky Tam, Digital Development and Technology Officer

    Ricky joined theRegion of Learning team in February 2022. Ricky liaises with platform's delivery partners and suppliers, reviewing the designs, standards, and technologies for the platform to ensure that any technical specifications are clearly defined and communicated. Ricky has extensive experience in web and mobile application development, website implementation, digital media event production, and UI/UX design using cutting-edge web technologies in an Agile environment.

  • Chetna Jena, Learning Pathways Assistant

    Chetna joined the Region of Learning team in August 2022. Her role focuses on identifying key skills needed in the labour market and matching these to the learning offer in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Chetna liases with local learning providers to identify new opportunities that are relevant to young people. She also creates digitally badged pathways that enable individuals to explore their interests and boost their personal and professional development.

  • Haniya Syed, Learning Pathways Assistant

    Haniya joined the Region of Learning team in August 2022. Haniya works as a learning pathways assistant and is focused mainly on the learning providers and opportunities around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Her role involves researching new learning opportunities and providers, writing digital badges and drawing up badge visuals along with creating badge pathways for signposting users towards their desired learning opportunity/goal. Haniya also liases with learning providers for any follow-ups, questions, queries or general catchup. Haniya has a background in social care and Public Health.
